Notice of utility diversion works near Brancote, east of Stafford

What we are doing

Before Cadent starts work to move the pipeline, we need to set up a new site access off Blackheath Lane and an access route through the field north of Hanyards Lane. We will be starting work to build the new access from 23 January 2023.

So that Cadent can carry out the access works safely, there will be a single-lane closure on Blackheath Lane, which we expect to take place from around 20 February 2023 until 3 March 2023. The road will remain open at all times, although temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place.

Cadent will then start main works to move the pipeline. The work will involve:

• Set up of a new temporary works compound off Hanyards Lane
• Digging a trench for the new pipeline
• Welding the pipe together and installing it in the trench
• Connecting and testing the new pipe

Cadent vehicles will be accessing the working area from the new access route off Blackheath Lane, and then via Hanyards Lane.

There will be security on site so we can maintain a safe working environment. Please note, there will be no on-site lodging.
