What we are doing
Works planned on Loudoun Road and Alexandra Road
From 30 June to 15 July 2022, we will be carrying out a series of ground investigations at the junction of Alexandra Road and Loudoun Road.
The ground investigations will consist of digging a temporary trench to confirm the location of utilities under the surface of the road. The investigations will help us to understand and aid the design of the new railway and the best ways to protect or divert any utilities during construction. Your utility services will not be affected during these works.
The ground investigations will take place between 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm Saturdays, if required. We will use noise reducing barriers where possible to help minimise any noise disruption to the local community, working as efficiently as possible whilst keeping our work areas safe and tidy.
How this might affect you
To ensure the safety of the public and our staff, temporary changes will be in place at the junction of Alexandra Road and Loudoun Road (shown on the following page). A single lane closure will be in place with three-way traffic lights on Loudoun Road with a full road closure on Alexandra Road. A clearly singed diversion route for vehicles and pedestrians will be in place.

To help us maintain traffic flow on the road network, we have agreed the following diversion route:
Vehicles travelling west on Alexandra Road will be diverted northwest onto Hilgrove Road, east along Hilgrove Road and then south on Loudoun Road.
Vehicles travelling north on Loudoun Road will be diverted west along Hilgrove Road and then south on Alexandra Road.
Access to businesses and homes will be available at all times.
