Update: works on College Crescent and Alexandra Road, South Hampstead

What we are doing

We updated you in October 2025 about our gas main diversion works on College Crescent and Alexandra Road. Currently we are carrying out works on College Crescent and Alexandra Road.  These works were expected to be complete on 27 February 2026. They are now due to finish on 22 March 2026. The road closure on Alexandra Road and the lane closure, with one way traffic only, on College Crescent, will remain in place. The traffic diversions and parking bay suspensions will remain. Bus stop G on College Cresent will remain suspended.

We are sorry for the disruption that the delay in these works may cause, and we will keep you updated on further details before each phase, and as works progress.

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
