What we are doing
What we are doing
From 10 to 28 October 2022, we will be carrying out the main sewer protection works in Station Approach and Long Drive. We will reline the foul and surface sewer network and are scheduled to take place overnight from 8pm to 5am, Monday to Friday to minimise disruption.
On three occasions we will start work from 7pm to 7am on Wednesday 12, Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 26 October. This is to allow adequate curing time to complete the sewer lining works. Please note, these activities are weather dependant and may need to be rescheduled.
We will set up a site compound at the junction of Station Approach with Great Central Avenue on Monday 10 October from 8am to 6pm. Due to the location of our site welfare, we will temporarily close the road at the junction of Great Central Avenue with Station Approach, for the duration of the works.
There will be a clearly signed diversion route via Bourne Avenue and Primrose Gardens to enable access to Great Central Avenue.
Update on Station Approach night-time bridge inspection
We recently wrote to you to let you know that we would be carrying out bridge inspections in Station Approach, from 3 to 7 October 2022. We will incorporate the bridge inspection works within this period.
How these works might affect you
Temporary traffic lights with a single lane closure required in multiple phases. The traffic management configuration will be altered and removed each night. Traffic will be able to flow in both directions at any one time.
You may hear additional noise during these works. We will use noise reducing barriers to surround the work areas when noisy activities are in progress to provide noise mitigation.
We would like to apologise in advance for any disruption or inconvenience this may cause. Every effort is being taken to ensure that these works are carried out in the least impactful way.
We will ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.
