What we are doing
Weekend working
We will be working over a 24 hour period on the weekends of 11 and 12, 18 and 19, 25 and 26 September and 2 and 3 October 2021. We will be removing disused rails, clearing vegetation and installing hoarding at rail track level in the area shown on the map below.
These works will allow us to install and secure the hoarding at the southern end of our site, bordering the railway, to facilitate the construction of the ventilation shafts. We will be receiving deliveries of materials on site and using a crane to lower the material to track level.
Lorry movements to and from site as well as the crane operation may cause some noise disturbance. For safety reasons, these works will be carried out at night when the trains are not in operation.
How these works might affect you
We will need to use lighting overnight to enable the team to work safely. The welfare unit will be in use, which will be powered by a diesel generator.
You may notice periods of increased noise during these works. We would like to apologise in advance for any disruption or inconvenience this may cause. Every effort is being taken to ensure that these works are carried out in the least impactful way. We will ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.
