What we are doing
The new HS2 railway will pass above one of National Grid’s gas pipelines at Pipe Ridware between Alrewas and Weston Bank. To ensure the pipeline continues to operate safely and reliably, they need to divert it. National Grid has started work to divert a 440m long section of the gas pipeline at Pipe Ridware.
None of the work will affect gas supplies.
Update Apr 2022 – The arrangements to manage these works are as follows:
- From 28 January to 18 November 2022 Common Lane/Pipe Lane (School Lane) will have junction traffic management. We’ll install traffic signals for the duration of the diversion work.
- From 24 January to 28 October 2022 Pipe Wood Lane will have traffic management. We’ll install two-way traffic signals at the plant crossing.
- From 4 April to 7 October 2022 Dawson Lane will be closed and diverted, as shown below. We’ll close the road and put a diversion in place for the safety of our workforce, local people and road users.
No amendments to traffic, bus, cycle, walking and riding routes.
