Notice of works happening south of the Chiltern Line

What we are doing

We will be creating two small work sites next to Breakspear Road South and in the fields next to Ickenham Cricket Club grounds. We will be working with Instalcom to redirect the overhead electricity cables in the HS2 work area.

Instalcom Ltd (working on behalf of SSEN), will create the first compound, from which we will launch a small tunnel boring machine that will drill underground towards the east. It will travel underneath the River Pinn and emerge within the second site. The machine will then return along the tunnel that has been created, pulling electricity cables back to the first site.

This will ensure that works in our main site can be carried out safely without risk to the electricity supply in the area.

For safety reasons, there will be operatives walking in front of our vehicles whilst transporting fencing and other materials. This will also avoid closure of footpaths.
