What we are doing
From Monday 5th February for approximately two weeks, we will be carrying out excavation works within our Washwood Heath site. The works will be located inside a section of our site that is nearest to Common Lane and not on the highway.
To complete this work, we will use a vacuum excavator, which uses compressed air to loosen or agitate the ground. The loosened material is then removed using the vacuum on the machine creating a hole. At times we will also use hand digging tools to excavate the area. Once the surveys are carried out, we will backfill and reinstate all the holes.
The works will take place between Monday and Friday from 8am to 5pm.
We do not expect this activity to cause high levels of noise or vibration. However, during this work nearby neighbours to our site may hear low levels of construction noise and feel low levels of vibration as we break the concrete to access the cables underground. We will monitor and control the levels of disruption during our construction and try to keep this to a minimum.
