What we are doing
Removal of conveyor 12 – 21 July 2024
We are removing the conveyor which has been used for transporting excavated material from the Old Oak Common Station site to the Willesden Euroterminal site. The excavation works is now complete. Removing the conveyor will also enable the installation (at a future date) of a temporary UK Power Networks (UKPN) power cable bridge over Old Oak Common Lane until the permanent cabling is installed. This is part of the future utility works on Old Oak Common Lane. We will be excavating two trial holes during the road closure.
The impact on the community – road closures
The conveyor removal will affect local residents due to road and footpath closures, noise, and some floodlighting (which will be directed away from local properties). Further details are on the following pages.
The works are summarised below:
1. Conveyor bridge removal pre-works. Road closure: 10pm Friday 12 July 2024 to 5am Monday 15 July 2024.
2. Removal of conveyor bridge crossing Old Oak Common Lane and large crane from site. Road closure: 10pm Friday 19 July 2024 to 10pm Sunday 21 July 2024. The road closure prevents traffic passing directly underneath the conveyor as we are removing it.
The footpath will be closed and there will be no pedestrian access on Saturday 13 July 12.00am – 09.00am and Friday 19 July 11.00pm – Saturday 20 July 5.00pm. These times are subject to change depending on the progress of works.
Vehicle diversion routes
During the closures, a diversion route will be in place as follows:
Diversion route: Old Oak Lane – Station Road – High Street Harlesden – Scrubs Lane – Du Cane Road – Old Oak Common Lane
We would like to apologise for the disruption that these works will cause, and we are trying to minimise the impacts of these works as much as possible. Please see map attach below with further information.
