What we are doing

What are we doing

As we continue with the construction programme at Old Oak Common station site, we have a number of activities that will be taking place between July and October 2024.

This will include the installation of temporary traffic management, utility trial holes and temporary road, and footway, closures. Bus stops will not be affected by these works.

 

Works starting July – August

Utility trial holes on Old Oak Common Lane

  1. Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place between Monday 8 July and Sunday 4 August 2024 in the location shown in the map below to allow Thames Water and Cadent to undertake trial hole investigation works on the southbound carriageway. There will also be a southbound footpath closure for safety reasons.
  2. Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place between Monday 5 August and Monday 26 August 2024 in the location shown in the map below to allow Thames Water and Cadent to undertake trial hole investigation works on the northbound carriageway. There will also be a northbound footpath closure for safety reasons.
  3. Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place between Monday 26 August and Monday 7 October 2024 in the location shown in the map below to allow Thames Water and Cadent to undertake trial hole investigation works on the northbound carriageway. There will also be a northbound footpath closure for safety reasons.

 

Works starting September to October 2024

Utility trial holes

  1. Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place on Old Oak Common Lane between Saturday 7 September and Sunday 9 September 2024 and Saturday 21 September and Sunday 22 September 2024 in the location shown in the map below to allow Thames Water to cut and cap a water main in the southbound carriageway. There will also be a southbound footpath closure for safety reasons.
  2. Temporary four-way traffic lights will be in place on Wells House Road between Monday 14 October and Friday 25 October 2024 in the location shown in the map below to allow Thames Water and Cadent to undertake trial hole investigation works on the southbound carriageway. There will also be a parking restriction on Wells House Road and a southbound footpath closure for safety reasons.
  3. Temporary four-way traffic lights will be in place on Wells House Road between Monday 28 October and Friday 8 November 2024 in the location shown in the map below to allow Thames Water and Cadent to undertake trial hole investigation works on the northbound carriageway. There will be a parking restriction on Wells House Road and a northbound footpath closure for safety reasons. The works will be outside properties 153 – 163 Wells House Road and we will make direct contact with these residents to discuss how we will help to reduce the impact of the works.

 

Works starting in November

Great Western Main Line bridges and Old Oak Common Lane realignment works

  1. Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place between Wednesday 20 November and Tuesday 26 November 2024 in the location shown in the map below to allow us to remove fencing and reinstate the footpath. There will be a southbound lane closure and footpath closure for safety reasons.
  2. Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place between Wednesday 27 November and Tuesday 10 December 2024 in the location shown in the map below to allow us to install hoardings. There will be a northbound lane closure and footpath closure for safety reasons.

A number of these works are subject to approvals from the local authorities and therefore dates could change. We will let you know of any changes via the HS2 website and email notifications.
