What we are doing
What are we doing?
Western Power Distribution will be diverting their existing Overhead line, to underground, to avoid the HS2 route
This will involve completing a Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) under the Kenilworth Greenway and the additional of a cable sealing end tower-this is a special type of tower that enables the cable to go from overhead to underground. The works will result in the removal of 3 towers and the addition of 1 cable sealing end tower. An additional temporary tower will be installed for a number of months to enable circuit change overs.
How will this impact you?
There will be minimal impact on the surrounding area. The work requires plant and equipment to be on site and will be carried out in fields away from residents and the highway. To access the area, we will be using an existing access point from Hodgetts Lane to our site. Access to work areas will be from that existing substation area
