What we are doing
We have previously constructed Marston Box bridge, on the M42 near junction 9 to allow the new HS2 railway to pass over the motorway and head north. We will be carrying out a CCTV inspection of the existing verge drainage system, followed by jetting operations, if necessary, to remove any identified blockages and ensure optimal functionality.
We will be closing the following lanes on the following dates between 9pm and 5am.
- Tuesday 9 December 2025: Northbound Hard Shoulder and Lane 1 will be closed.
- Wednesday 10 December 2025: Northbound Hard Shoulder and Lane 1 will be closed.
- Thursday 11 December 2025: Southbound Hard Shoulder and Lane 1 will be closed.
- Friday 12 December 2025: Southbound Hard Shoulder and Lane 1 will be closed.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
