What we are doing
Overnight drainage surveys on Canterbury Road and Chichester Road
We wrote to you previously about utility surveys in your local area. We will be carrying out further drainage surveys on Canterbury Road and Chichester Road near the HS2 Canterbury Works site.
The surveys will take place overnight on 16 May between the hours of 9pm and 6am on 17 May. In order to carry out these works safely, we will set up a safety exclusion zone around our working area. Signage will be in place to advise motorists and pedestrians of our work and to maintain traffic flow. A map showing the location of these works can be viewed on the following page.
These surveys will help us understand the condition of the drainage system in the area and how to best protect them during the construction of the railway.
We will investigate the condition of the sewer system using a camera and may need to flush the drainage using a high-pressure water jet if any blockages are found. You may notice additional noise should we need to carry out this activity.
Your utility services will not be affected during the surveys. Temporary changes will be in place on Canterbury Road and Chichester Road during the surveys. More information is included on the next page.
