Overnight works on Victoria Road to remove parking bays

What we are doing

From 10pm on 20 February to 3am on 21 February, we will be doing emergency works to remove 10 parking bays permanently and paint double yellow lines on the southern carriageway of Victoria Road, opposite the junction with School Road.

This work is needed to improve pedestrian and vehicle visibility which has become a safety concern when drivers and cyclists approach the junction.

During the work, the road will be slightly narrow, and the cycle lane will be suspended. However, the two-way traffic will remain in place. We don’t expect any major traffic disruption, but you may hear some noise from the road line marking tools being used. Signage will be in place to inform motorists, cyclists and pedestrian about the works.
