What we are doing
Location
Between M6 J4 and J4a, including the M42 J7A link to the M6 northbound.
Duration
M6 northbound full carriageway closure from Junction 4, with lanes 2 and 3 closed on the M6 southbound.
Each night from Friday 8 May to Monday 11 May 2026, between 9pm and 5am.
M6 southbound full carriageway closure from Junction 4a, including the M42 Junction 7A link road, with M6 northbound lanes 2 and 3 closures.
Each night from Monday 11 to Saturday 16 May 2026, between 9pm and 5am.
M6 southbound Junction 4 exit slip road closure
Each night from Monday 18 to Saturday 23 May 2026, between 9pm and 5am.
What we are doing
Constructing the M6 South viaduct Structure.
What to expect
Low level of noise from our work site. A fully signed diversion route in place,
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
