What we are doing
We will permanently close the existing Gilson Drive, from the junction of Gilson Road to the Gilson Drive overbridge. Road users will be diverted to a new section of road as part of the new Gilson Road realignment.
What to expect
The traffic switch will be carried out overnight to ensure minimal disruption to residents. Road users will use the new section of road
which is two lanes and will have a temporary plant crossing in use during working hours. We are committed to keeping you informed about work on HS2. This includes ensuring you know what to expect and when to expect it, as well as how we can help you.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
