What we are doing
We previously wrote to you last October informing you of the planned electrical connection works at our Chesham Road site. This will provide power to the HS2 railway in the Chiltern tunnel when it becomes operational. Due to the adverse weather conditions these works were not completed which meant the contractor UK Power Networks (UKPN) had to stop works.
How will this affect you?
The works have now been rescheduled. There will be a single lane closure and two-way traffic lights will be in place 24/7 on Chesham Road, B485, near the junction with Hyde Lane:
- From the morning of Monday 19 to evening of Sunday 25 February 2024
- UKPN will endeavour to complete the works and remove the traffic management earlier if possible.
For safety reasons the traffic management will remain in place throughout this time, including outside working hours, as the connection is deep underground. Traffic management will operate and control traffic flows to ensure that operatives can work safely in the carriageway.
Approvals for this closure
UK Power Networks have obtained consent from the local authority, Buckinghamshire Council, to carry out these works. A permit has been granted. Additional information for residents living close to the works will be provided by UK Power Networks closer to the date of works.
