What we are doing
Thames Water will install a protective tunnel lining to an existing raw water tunnel, to provide added structural stability during future underground HS2 works.
The main work will be undertaken within Barrow Hill reservoir site (for details follow this link), with the site on Grafton Crescent being required for emergency access only.
The work is expected to last from Thursday 4 January to Tuesday 16 April 2024.
We will monitor noise levels, but do not expect to create high levels of noise as most activity will be carried out underground.
There will be a one lane closure and a one-way system operating in Grafton Crescent whilst we carry out the works.
Access will be from Castle Road with exits onto Castlehaven Road. Public footways will remain open. There will be two parking bay suspensions, one bay to the side of 117 Castlehaven Road and one bay to the side of 119 Castlehaven Road.
