What we are doing
BBV have been significantly reconfiguring the junction of the A446 Stonebridge Road and A452 Chester Road near Birmingham Business Park to facilitate the construction of a box structure (bridge) that will take the new railway over the M42. Following the removal of the bridge in 2023 we are preparing to undertake the works for the construction of the new bridge, in order to prepare for these works we have to install new streetlight columns and remove pile caps currently underground.
In order to complete the works safely we will require lane closures on the M42 in both directions as well as a closure of the M6 Junction 4 link road, there will be a clear signed diversion route for the slip road closure that will direct motorists southbound on the A446 to Stonebridge Island where motorists will take the third exit onto the westbound A45 and join the M42 Junction 6 roundabout where motorists can continue their journey. This work will take place from January 8th until January 19th, weekend nights only, between the hours of 9pm and 5am.
