Extension of ongoing works from 4 March 2026 for up to 2 years.
What we are doing
We will be continuing the operation of a controlled crossing on B4118 Birmingham Road, Water Orton for our haul road. The haul roads allow for the movement of construction materials, construction machinery and/or construction staff around work sites.
What to expect
Two-way traffic lights will be in place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Traffic lights will be set on green and will turn to red only when construction vehicles need to cross the road. Access will be always maintained for residents, businesses and Emergency Services.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
