What we are doing
Northern lorry lay-by extension – 3 April to June
From 3 April to June we carry out works to install a new pedestrian access to our worksite at the northern end of Park Village East. We will extend the hoarded lorry lay-by to just south of 1 Park Village East to enclose the new access and reduce the possible noise and visual impact.
This works will require temporary road closure during working hours, we will maintain access to local residents.
We will then install a three-storey office and welfare building and have it ready to use from September. Once we begin our tunnelling works, the office and welfare building will be used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to serve the tunnelling works due to start in autumn 2023.
Surveys outside 22 and 24 Park Village East – postponed to 17 April
From 27 March we planned to carry out ground investigation works in front of 22 and 24 Park Village East to determine the location of existing live utility services.
These works are rescheduled to 17 – 28 April. Please follow this link to updated notice.
For the trial hole and borehole works, we will require a footpath closure and pedestrian access will be diverted across the street. The borehole works will also require four parking bay suspensions outside of 22 and 24 Park Village East. Access to properties will be maintained. We will use barriers and acoustic blankets to limit noise and dust from these works.
Road closure for southern lorry lay-by install – 10 April to mid-May
We notified in July 2022 of a second lay-by at the southern end of Park Village East to collect and deliver materials over the wall using tower cranes due to limited space at track-level. We will begin work to install this lay-by on 10 April.
We will close Park Village East at the junction with Parkway during working hours. Access for residents will be maintained.
The lay-by will be 65m long and positioned within the footpath and road opposite Richmond House.
We will divert pedestrians to the footpath on the western side of the road and suspend about 24 parking bays to make space for the lay-by. We know how important parking is and are working closely with Camden Council to identify alternative parking bays to replace some of those lost. We expect the lay-by to take four weeks to install and it will remain operational until the completion of the HS2 works in this area.
