What we are doing
We wrote to you recently to let you know about our plans to carry out CCTV and trial hole surveys on Greenford Road and Rockware Avenue. These works have been rescheduled and will now take place from 22 October to 12 November 2022. The locations for the surveys has been changed.
The surveys will be conducted in three phases, in the areas shown on the map overleaf.
We will be digging trial holes, undertaking ground penetrating radar (GPR) surveys, and investigating the condition of the gas main on Greenford Road and Bennetts Avenue.
Our survey team will be working within the carriageway under the bridge on Greenford Road utilising a lane and footpath closure. They will require a road closure on Bennetts Avenue to ensure the works can be carried out safely.
Your utility services will not be affected.
How these works might affect you
Temporary traffic management of a lane and footpath closure will be in place on Greenford Road and a road closure on Bennetts Avenue. There will be a clearly signed diversion route via Greenford Road, Downing Drive and Middleton Avenue to enable access to Bennetts Avenue.
There will be intermittent noise whilst the road surface is being broken.
We would like to apologise in advance for any disruption or inconvenience this may cause. Every effort is being taken to ensure that these works are carried out in the least impactful way. We will ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.
Phase of works
• Phase one: from 22 – 30 October, trial hole and gas CCTV Surveys next to the rail bridge structure
• Phase two: from 31 October – 5 November, road closure on Bennetts Avenue gas CCTV survey to verify location of a gas main on carriageway and trial holes. Bennetts Avenue will be closed for the duration of the survey works
• Phase three: from 7 – 12 November, trial hole survey next to the rail bridge structure
