What we are doing
Installation of rainbow crossing
We wrote to you early February regarding the conversion of an existing pelican crossing on Victoria Road into a rainbow crossing to celebrate LGBT+ history month and celebrate inclusivity in the local area. These works were due to take place overnight on the 26 February to coincide with other works in the area and reduce the impact on the local highway network.
Unfortunately, the materials used to paint the crossing will not stick to the road surface at temperatures below 5°C. Due to the low overnight temperatures forecast during late February, these works have been rescheduled to take place on the 12 March between 8am and 2pm when temperatures are higher.
Temporary Road changes on Victoria Road
During these works we will need to close a section of road on Victoria Road to paint the crossing markings. A signed vehicle diversion route will be in place during. We will also need to temporarily close bus stop North Action Station (Stop Z) next to the Holiday Inn Express on Victoria Road. The next closest stops are Chase Road North Acton (Stop U), North Acton Station (Stop B) and Wales Farm Road (Stop C).
Further details of the road changes can be found on the following page.
