What we are doing
We previously informed you that we need to install a tower crane in January 2026 to facilitate works restarting in the Euston Scissor Box. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions and supplier availability, this has now been rescheduled to 23 March 2026 along with the installation of our second tower crane which was scheduled for spring 2026.
The tower cranes will be delivered in parts via our main site entrance on Hampstead Road and built onsite using a large mobile crane. For safety reasons, these parts need to be transported during early morning to avoid peak traffic hours. The construction of the tower cranes will take place during core working hours. We expect the installation of both tower cranes to take around five days, however we may need to work the following week as contingency.
If we need to reschedule these works again due to weather conditions, we will provide an update as soon as possible.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
