Update to notice of footpath closure Waddesdon Greenway

What we are doing

In October, our continuing works on the HS2 line will focus on the area around the Waddesdon Greenway crossing, which intersects with the new railway route.

We will be installing a new crossing point and short diversion to the original route, which will ensure the public can continue to pass safely across the railway route unimpeded by our works site.

To ensure our construction teams can operate in a safe working zone, we will need to close the existing crossing and the connecting sections of footpath/cycleway and bridleways for a short duration. There will be a five-day period when the footpath will be fully closed, and the temporary crossing will be built. There will be no access across the HS2 worksite via Waddesdon Greenway during this time.

When will these works take place?

• Monday 23 October to Friday 27 October – Footpath closure (Footpath will be closed 24-hours a day)
• Saturday 28 October – ongoing – Footpath diversion in place. The old Waddesdon Greenway crossing will remain closed.

These dates may change due to conditions outside of our control. Please refer to the HS2 website regularly to check for any changes and updates.
Wherever possible, we will minimise the impact on highway users by coordinating deliveries to avoid peak times.
