Update – notice of overnight road closures A413 London Road, Wendover

What we are doing

The overnight full road closures in January have been extended as a contingency for the cold weather. If we can complete the work in a shorter time, we will reopen the road.

During this time, we will be working on the surfacing for the areas we tie into the existing road and tarmacking the new alignment.

To enable the next phase of construction of the Small Dean Viaduct we will be undertaking a small realignment of the A413 London Road. Once the road has been temporarily realigned it will enable us to continue with the construction of two of the viaduct piers. There will be various phases of construction coming up that will have short duration impacts on the road through to February 2024.

All works are taking place overnight to reduce their impact on road users and once complete the temporary new realignment will be in operation.

There will be further road closures in February and March, but we will communicate those dates in due course.

When will these works take place?
Overnight full road closure:

• Monday 15 January to Sunday 21 January (8.30pm to 5.30am)
• Monday 22 January to Monday 29 January (8.30pm to 5.30am)

To minimise disruption, we will introduce a fully signposted diversion route and have chosen to work overnight to reduce our road impact.
These dates may be subject to change due to circumstances outside of our control but works will be completed in or around the set timeframes.
