What we are doing
In our notification in April, we said we would notify you if it became necessary to work outside of standard hours. From Saturday 4 June until 31 July 2021, we will extend our finish time on Saturdays from 1pm to 6pm. We hope to reduce the overall duration of the works by working extended hours on Saturdays.
Piling works at our site on Harvil Road will continue until 31 July 2021. Please see a map with the location of the piling works on page 2. These works are needed to stabilise the ground while we build the over bridges at these locations. It is an effective approach to combating corrosion and is proven to significantly improve the life expectancy of a structure.
Our piling method
We will be installing bored piles at our site. Bored piles are a commonly used form of foundation that provide support for structures, transferring their load to layers of soil or rock that have sufficient load bearing capacity and suitable settlement characteristics.
We do not expect any noise and vibration disturbance to nearby residents and monitoring will be in place throughout these works. We will use water sprays to reduce dust generated by construction activities.
Hours of work
Our working hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm and Saturday from 8am to 6pm.
What to expect
There will be heavy goods vehicle movements and deliveries to our site on Harvil Road. During the works, you may notice large construction equipment and machinery in our site including heavy goods vehicles, piling and excavating machinery, cranes, lighting towers and concreting equipment.
