UPDATE – Notice of road closure – Lavender Hall Lane – Berkswell

What we are doing

UPDATE – We previously contacted you to advise that the road would be closed from 9:30am until 3pm. We are writing to you today to advise that the road will now be closed from 9am until 3pm.

The new railway will pass under a new bridge on Lavender Hall Lane which is currently in an advanced stage of construction. Next year, in the spring, we will start to ‘tie in’ the existing road over the new bridge and this will require significant alterations to elevate the road to the new alignment.

On 4 November until 8 November we will close the road between 9am and 3pm to undertake vegetation clearance in preparation for the work. Although the main work will not start until next year, the vegetation clearance must be done now to encourage bats and other wildlife to roost and hibernate in newly created habitats. When will the work take place

The road will be closed from 9am until 3pm starting on 4 November until 8 November.

IMPORTANT
Under previous closures we have been able to escort pedestrians and cyclist safely through the closure. Given the nature of the work we are undertaking it will not be possible to do so this time.
