Update on concrete pours at Mandeville Road Site

What we are doing

We wrote to you on 11 January to let you know that there would be continuous deliveries of concrete to our Mandeville Road Ventilation Shaft site on the 14 and 25 January 2024. Due to delays with preceding works, the pour scheduled for the 25 January has been delayed until 28 January 2024.

Deliveries to Mandeville Road Ventilation Shaft site will occur for 12 hours to enable a continuous concrete pour into the Main Shaft. We expect this to be between about 6am and 6pm. The concrete pour must be uninterrupted in order to maintain the structural integrity of the Main Vent Shaft walls.

There will be a delivery of machinery between 4am and 5am on 28 January 2024, ready for a 6am start. The machinery will be removed once the concrete pour is complete, which we estimate to be between 6pm and 8pm. We will close Mandeville Road, so that we can reverse a lorry out of the site to remove the machinery.

While on-site work is not expected to cause additional disruption, more delivery vehicles will be present due to the quantity of concrete that is required. Traffic Marshals will guide delivery vehicles as usual. Noise and vibration monitoring will continue, with extra noise suppression if needed.

We would like to apologise for any disruption or inconvenience this may cause. Every effort is being taken to ensure that these works are carried out in the least impactful way.
