Update on concrete pours at Mandeville Road Ventilation Shaft site

What we are doing

Please see below the schedule of concrete pours between January and April at our Mandeville Road Ventilation Shaft site:

• Two concrete pours in January
• Three in February
• Eight concrete pours in March
• Seven in April

The dates for above pours will be updated in our weekly map. Main site activities at Mandeville Road – HS2

Mass concrete pours can take around 16 to 20 hours. We expect all the pours to start at 6am but they will have varied finish times. The concrete pours must be uninterrupted in order to maintain the structural integrity of the ventilation shaft walls.

There will be a delivery of machinery between 4am and 5am each day, ready for a 6am start. The machinery will be removed once the concrete pour is complete. We will close Mandeville Road for about 15 minutes so that we can reverse a lorry out of the site to remove the machinery.

While on-site work is not expected to cause additional disruption, there will be periods of noise from concrete pour and more delivery vehicles will be present due to the quantity of concrete that is required. Traffic Marshals will guide delivery vehicles as usual. Noise and vibration monitoring will continue.

We would like to apologise for any disruption or inconvenience this may cause. Every effort is being taken to ensure that these works are carried out in the least impactful way.
