What we are doing
What we are doing
South Ruislip site will be closed for the festive period from 24 December 2022 to 2 January 2023. Only maintenance and checks will be undertaken during this time as well as the usual security presence. Residents should not be disturbed with this work.
From 3 to 25 January 2023, we will be installing dewatering wells in the satellite shaft to help manage the groundwater during excavation to reduce water from entering the shaft.
Secondary lining and waterproofing will continue in the main shaft from 3 January to 27 May 2023. This work will be 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
From 23 January to 25 February 2023. we will be digging the satellite shaft 36 meters below ground level. This work will be 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Tipper trucks will be entering and leaving site throughout the 24hr period.
We will use an excavator, tipper trucks and a crane to dig the shaft.
How the work might affect you
We will have an increase in lorry movements to remove the muck away from site during the excavation.
Localised noise barriers will be utilised where possible. Every effort is being taken to ensure that these works are carried out in the least impactful way. We will ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.
