What we are doing
What work is taking place?
We wrote to you in May 2023, to update you on our sewer protection works to reline the foul and surface sewer network between Victoria Road and Great Central Avenue.
These works are ongoing and have been delayed due to unforeseen issues and we will now be completing these works by 19 October 2023. The location of the works on Great Central Avenue is shown on the map on page 2 of the pdf attachment.
Great Central Avenue and Masson Avenue
We are progressing with the necessary utility protection and strengthening works within this scheme and now need to update you on the next area of works on Great Central Avenue and Masson
Avenue.
We will be carrying out works on Great Central Avenue to facilitate our lining works until 19 October 2023. The works will involve:
• Installing a temporary concrete platform for site machinery
• Installing sewer lining
• Reinstatement of substation and demobilisation
• Continued use of the temporary 24-hour over pumping system near Masson Avenue.
From 11 to 16 September 2023, we will be working 24 hours a day to install the sewer lining. The winch used to pull the lining through the sewer will be in operation throughout the night. We will use noise reducing barriers to minimise disruption.
We would like to apologise in advance for any disruption or inconvenience these works may cause. Every effort is being taken to ensure that these works are carried out in the least impactful way. We will ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.
How these works might affect you
There will be a temporary 24-hour over pumping system to transfer water and control the sewage flow to ensure that your utility services are uninterrupted during construction.
We will set up a site compound within Prior Farm’s fields and install fencing to segregate our work area. See map below for the location of our works and welfare unit.
