What we are doing
Overnight and weekend working in Euston Throat
We are continuing our works to remove the Network Rail wall in the Euston Throat area.
We will work overnight as required to reduce the height of the scaffold, as we lower the wall. We can only carry out the scaffolding works when the rail tracks below are not in use. We have chosen the quietest methods possible for this work to reduce impact to neighbours.
We will work overnight on Saturdays and Sundays, 9pm to 9am on the following dates:
- Saturday 28 February
- Sunday 1 March
Following the removal of the Network Rail wall, we’ll begin sheet piling in the Euston Throat work site. You may notice brief periods of noise while we install the piles.
We will work from 8am Saturday through to 8am on Sunday on the following dates:
- Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 March
- Saturday 21 to Sunday 22 March (contingency)
We will minimise noise impacts where possible and continually monitor noise levels to ensure we’re working within the approved limits.
Utility works on our haul road within site
We are continuing our utility diversion works on Hampstead Road as well as our cable pulling works in preparation for the Hampstead Road bridge extension.
For the next phase of our works, we need to work on our haul road within site during weekends when the area is not in use. We will be working on Saturday 21 February, 8am to 6pm and Sunday 22 February, 10am to 6pm and will continue with this schedule throughout remaining weekends in February. All noisy works will be carried out before 1pm. On 27 and 28 February we will work overnight from 5pm to midnight.
Removal of small office building within site behind Xavier House
We need to remove a small office building within our site, close to Xavier House on Hampstead Road that is no longer in use. Fencing will be placed around the area, as we use a digger to remove small sections at a time. We will work over two consecutive weekends to dismantle the building. Due to the proximity of the building to the Network Rail tracks, we can only do this work over the weekend. We do not expect these works to be noisy.
We will be working on Saturday 21 and Saturday 28 February, 8am to 6pm, and Sunday 22 February and Sunday 1 March, 10am to 4pm.
Cable pulling works behind Park Village East hoarding – weekends in March
We require two weekends in March to complete some additional cable pulling work within site. We need to pull cables over our haul road when the area is not in use. We will be working within our hoarding on Stanhope Street to below Mornington Street Bridge.
We will be working on Saturday 7 March, 8am to 6pm and Sunday 8 March, 10am to 4pm.
Hoarding maintenance on Hampstead Road
We carry out regular maintenance to our site hoarding on Hampstead Road once or twice a month, on a Saturday night. We will carry out this work overnight on Saturday 7 March and Saturday 21 March.
We will temporarily close the northbound lane on Hampstead Road and maintain two-way traffic in the southbound lane. You may notice brief periods of noise as we clean the road and hoarding.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
