What we are doing
Crossover Box piling works from 10 May 2021
From 10 May to late June 2021, we will be carrying out piling works in the Victoria Road Crossover Box site. These works will take place during our core working hours of 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm Saturdays as required.
Piling method and monitoring
Bored piling uses a rotary rig to remove spoil, replacing it with reinforced concrete piles that withstand tension. These piles provide a strong concrete foundation that will support structures with heavy loads.
To minimise the impact of these works to our neighbours the following mitigations methods will be in place:
- Monitor ground movement, noise and dust to ensure this is kept to a minimum
- Continue to dampen down areas of the site if required to reduce the amount of dust generated by construction activities
- Continue to monitor our construction methods to minimise disruption to the local community
What to expect
There will be heavy goods vehicle movements and deliveries to the Victoria Road site prior to the start of the piling works. During the works, you may notice large construction equipment and machinery in our site throughout these works including:
• Heavy goods vehicles
• Piling machinery
• Excavators
• Cranes
• Lighting towers
• Concreting equipment
Measures are in place to reduce disruption to local residents and businesses. We also continue to review our working methods to minimise any disruption.
