Update: Vegetation trimming for Adelaide Road site

What we are doing

Safe stop down to SCS works from 10 October 

Safety is our number one priority at HS2. Following an incident that occurred at the Green Park Way site in Ealing, works are being safely halted across the London Tunnels section of the route, including sites in Camden. While no workers were physically harmed, our contractor, Skanska Costain STRABAG joint venture, is undertaking a comprehensive review of safety procedures and leadership on their sites before a safe restart can take place. 

Works will be brought to a safe stop and will remain on hold until we’re satisfied that all appropriate measures are in place to protect the workforce. We anticipate the review may take a number of weeks depending on the area and the type of work involved. 

We will provide details on when the safe stop will be in place over the course of the next week. 

For one day every second month until the end of October 2025 we will be carrying out vegetation trimming surrounding our Adelaide Road site. No trees will be removed, only low-level vegetation. This work is needed to ensure clear visibility when taking readings from the monitoring equipment placed in various locations.

These works will take place during core working hours. Night works may be required in the Network Rail land (near the train tracks) to avoid rail disruptions during some months.

Trimmers and hand tools will be used for this work and are not expected to cause any major disruption to local residents; however, you may hear additional noise at times.

Update: Overnight vegetation trimming for Adelaide Road site

From 9pm Saturday 30 August 2025 to 12pm Sunday 31 August 2025 we will be carrying out vegetation trimming along a section of Network Rail land surrounding our Adelaide Road Ventilation Shaft and Headhouse site.

We must complete this work to ensure clear visibility for our monitoring equipment located in the area. The works will take place overnight to avoid rail disruptions.
