What we are doing
We wrote to you in November 2024 that trial holes planned on Badminton Close and Mandeville Road had been delayed.
The trial holes have now been rescheduled to take place from 20 January to 3 February 2025.
We will dig the trial holes to assess the existing utilities underground before we can install the proposed new cable to power the Mandeville Road Vent Shaft site. The exact route for the new cable is yet to be confirmed. We will provide more information about this as soon as possible.
Badminton Close
We will dig five of the trial holes on the road in Badminton Close. This work will be done in phases to minimise disruption. We will use a vacuum excavator to dig the trial holes. This may be noisy, and we will use noise reducing barriers where possible to minimise disruption to the local community.
There will be traffic marshals at the junction with Mandeville Road, with vehicle access for residents and services only. Pedestrian footpaths will be maintained. There will be lane closures with parking bay suspensions, in phases as the work progresses. There will be access to Badminton Close for residents at all times. Please note that parking bay signage may only include the start date, however the parking bay suspensions are in effect from 20 January to 3 February 2025.
Mandeville Road
On Mandeville Road there will be three trial holes on the footpath. We will use handheld machinery to dig the trial holes. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Bus stop B will continue to be operational, however half of the shelter will be closed at a time.
