Utility works at Ampthill Estate

What we are doing

We are installing a new power cable route from Lidlington Place to Varndell Street to replace the existing route across the railway and through Ampthill Estate.

As part of this work, we will install two new connections from Hampstead Road to the substations at the bottom of Gillfoot and Oxenholme. This is to maintain the power supply to the buildings when the old route is removed.

We will carry out this work from 16 September to 11 October. We will work in sections to hand dig a trench, lay ducts and break out concrete where required. Each section will be returned to its current condition before we move on to the next. We also need to remove a small section of vegetation next to Oxenholme to carry out this work. We will reinstate this at the earliest opportunity following completion of the works.

We will maintain pedestrian access at all times with diversions around the work site. We do not expect this work to affect your current utility service. We expect some of this work to be noisy. We apologise in advance for any disturbance this may cause.
