What we are doing
What have we been doing
We recently contacted you to inform you of vegetation clearance on a section of Wormwood Scrubs, adjacent to Old Oak Common Lane. This area was cleared so that UK Power Network (UKPN) can carry out vital cable diversions required for the construction of Old Oak Common Station. The clearance included the removal of one tree and some shrubs that obstruct the cable route.
What are we doing next
Following the vegetation clearance UKPN will conduct their trial hole surveys. This work is to assess the ground conditions so that cabling work can occur safely in the future.
To complete the surveys we will need to dig the trial holes in the northbound and southbound carriageways. The work will be completed by UKPN, by using a mechanical excavator.
We had previously informed you that the works would take place between 27 February 2024 and 24 March 2024. However due to unforeseen circumstances these works have been pushed back and will now take place from 8 April 2024 until 3 May 2024.
To carry out this work safely, we will need to put in northbound and southbound lane closures with traffic management. This work will additionally require pedestrian diversions.
