What we are doing
We are continuing to build the ventilation shaft and headhouse at Westgate until August 2027. The ventilation shaft will allow air to flow in and out of the railway tunnel below. The headhouse is the building on top of the ventilation shaft which contains fire control and ventilation systems.
Works to connect the ventilation shaft to the tunnel will take place during the year.
You may notice some construction noise. We will use mitigation measures to reduce impacts where possible.
Our core working hours: 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. We may be on site for an hour at the start and/or at the end of each shift.
