Update: Works in Camden Cutting north

What we are doing

We are currently working in Zone G within Camden Cutting north to remove some excess material using hydro-demolition due to overpoured concrete. We have been trailling using quieter machinery and whilst this has reduced the noise impact, the use of this machinery has meant the works have taken longer than expected. We were due to complete these works by Friday 19 December, however due to delays on site, we now plan to finish these works by Wednesday 24 December.

We may need to work on Saturday 13 and 20 December, 8am to 5pm, and Sunday 14 and 21 December, 10am to 5pm. To reduce impacts to residents, there will be no hydro-demolition after 1pm on Saturdays and no noisy works on Sundays.

From Monday 1 December, we began a hydro-demolition process, which uses a high-powered water blaster to break up and remove the excess concrete. There may be periods of noise while we use the water blaster, however these works are within an acoustic tent to minimise noise to neighbouring properties. We anticipate we will need around three weeks to complete this phase of works. After the excess concrete has been removed, we will dismantle the acoustic tent and complete a concrete pour.

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
