What we are doing

Works in Zone G – extended to January 2026

We were due to complete the hydro-demolition works in Zone G by Wednesday 24 December.  We have been trialing using quieter machinery and and enclosed the works within an acoustic tent. Whilst this has reduced the noise impact, it has meant works have taken longer than expected. We now expect to finish these works by the end of January 2026.

We will restart hydro-demolition works in the new year from Tuesday 6 January. In addition to core working hours, we will need to work on Saturdays from 8am to 5pm, to make up for the delays. To reduce impacts to residents, there will be no hydro-demolition after 1pm on Saturdays. We will use the remaining Saturday shift to remove material on site. After we remove the excess concrete, we will dismantle the acoustic tent and complete a concrete pour.

Weekend working in Zone G – January and February

In January and February, due to the delay caused by the hydro-demolition works, we will need to carry out some minor work including steel fixing in Zone G on Saturdays and Sundays to make up for lost time. However these works will not be noisy.

HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
