What we are doing
We will be undertaking works next to the South Staffordshire railway line near Streethay (see map on page 2 of the notification). Our construction activities will include transporting materials to create a working platform and carrying out piling work, which is the process of installing foundations for future structures. To install the piles, we will drill a vertical hole deep into the ground and lower reinforced steel into the hole using a crane, before filling the hole with concrete and finally capping them with a beam.
To complete these works safely we will have controlled crossing giving priority for users of Public Right of Way Fradley and Streethay 6 between 7 February and 31 August. Where our haul roads cross highways, bridleways and public footpaths, controlled crossings are put in place to ensure public safety.
Our working hours will be between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday and when required 8am until 1pm on Saturdays.
