What we are doing
Previously we have communicated work taking place on the A425, this was postponed as a result of changes to the way the work was to be completed. We have now re-programmed this work to start on the 30 August 2022. Information about the works are below.
When where and why the need
We plan to carry out improvement works on the existing BT Openreach overhead assets along sections of A425 Leamington Road and Southam Road in Ufton, as shown on the location plan, overleaf.
The works are planned to be undertaken from Tuesday 30 August 2022 until Friday 16 September 2022 in two phases under short term road closures as listed in the blue box on the right. A temporary diversion route will be in place via B4455 Fosse Way, A423 then A425.
Works will include the installation of five new ducts crossing the existing road network and connections that remove the overheadcables and divert them through the ducts.
Phase 1: Ufton – Harbury Crossroads between 9:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday on 30, 31 August; 1 and 2 September 2022. Saturday 3 September 2022 between 9:00am – 1:00pm.
Monday 5 September and Tuesday 6 September 2022, then again12,13 and 14 September 2022 between 9:30am – 3:00pm.
Phase 2: Harbury Crossroads – Dallas Burston Polo Club between Monday to Friday on 7,8 and 9 September 2022 then again 15 and 16
September 2022, 9:30am – 3:00pm.
To minimise impact on Ufton Village, Ufton Fields, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) will be closed except for access to the nature reserve and residents.
These works are required to allow us to safely move plant and machinery into an existing Balfour Beatty Vinci construction site
located off Ridgeway Lane and Welsh Road.
In addition Laing O’Rourke and J. Murphy and Sons are doing unconnected work using a similar diversion, however this work does not impact the work of BBV as this will be completed during the night. More details of this work can be found below:
This notification is to inform of overnight closures required along the Fosse Way from 8pm to 6am on Wednesday 31 August, Thursday 1, Friday 2, and Saturday 3 September. The Fosse Way will be closed from the Long Itchington Road to Welsh Road.
Access for local residents, businesses and cyclists using the National Cycle Route 41 will be maintained. Temporary traffic lights will continue to be erected for the Fosse Way scheme as and when required until we fully complete works.
