Building the railway
HS2 is Britain’s biggest infrastructure project. The railway runs for about 140 miles, with four new stations and two depots. In total, we’re constructing 681 structures – including viaducts, bridges, cuttings and embankments as well as tunnels stretching for more than 32 miles in total.
Four joint ventures are building the railway between London and HS2’s connection to the West Coast Main Line in Staffordshire. Three contractors are leading our stations programme.
