Viaducts and bridges

Designed to fit their surroundings
We carefully design every viaduct and bridge to reflect its local environment. We work closely with architects, engineers, local authorities and communities to make sure each structure is proportionate, visually sensitive and right for its setting.
Where possible, we keep designs simple and elegant. We use natural materials and finishes that complement the surrounding landscape.
Built for the long term
We’re building our viaducts and bridges to last for generations. They meet strict safety standards and will withstand heavy use, extreme weather and the demands of a high-speed railway.
By using modern construction methods and durable materials, we’re reducing the need for future maintenance and minimising disruption over the railway’s lifetime.

Colne Valley viaduct
The Colne Valley viaduct is a gently curving structure to the northwest of London. At 2.1 miles (3.4km), it's our longest viaduct.
Delta Junction viaducts
We're building Delta Junction viaduct structures between Solihull, Water Orton and Coleshill in the West Midlands.
Curzon Street approach viaducts
This 1.5 kilometres section of viaducts will form part of the approach to Birmingham's new Curzon Street station.
Double composite viaducts
Our innovative double composite viaducts improve structural efficiency and reduces carbon emissions.
Rural bridges
Our rural bridges are an essential part of the new high-speed railway. They provide safe crossings where the line passes through countryside
