Overview:

Students will use their science skills to create an environmental improvement plan for their school. They will choose a focus area and design their own investigation. Then using their results, students will propose an action plan to improve the school environment. Students could alternatively use this structure to develop a plan for their homes.

Learning objectives:

Students will learn to:

  • Work scientifically to plan an investigation.
  • Analyse and evaluate data.
  • Evaluate risks.
  • Reflect on their learning.

Students will use the Essential Skills of problem solving and teamwork.

Delivery notes:

This project will take about 10 hours to complete.

Students may need other resources, depending on their chosen focus area.
