Jim Crawford joined HS2 Ltd in September 2024 as a Strategic Adviser and is now Interim Chief Programme Officer. 

Jim is responsible for re-baselining the phase one programme and creating a new strategy. He is also responsible for high-speed railway systems, trains and infrastructure works on the Network Rail infrastructure. 

Jim draws on more than 30 years of experience completing complex UK railway projects. His previous roles include Transpennine Route Upgrade programme director at Network Rail (2023 to 2024), chief programme officer at Crossrail (2020 to 2023), managing director phase 1 at HS2 Ltd (2014 to 2019), Thameslink major programme director at Network Rail (2009 to 2014), and national signalling and telecoms programme director at Network Rail (2004 to 2009).
