What we are doing

In recent weeks Align have completed a diversion of the Affinity Water main across the HS2 site near South Heath. Affinity Water need to close a short section of Potter Row to complete the connection with the water main in Potter Row. A full road closure with signed diversion routes will be put in place by Affinity Water from 1 September 2026 for up to three to four weeks. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained where possible, subject to the operational requirements of the works. There will be access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Affinity Water and their contractors are responsible for managing traffic management and communications during the road closure and works. HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
