What we are doing
Following the recent period of exceptionally warm weather, and as part of our ongoing commitment to the health, safety, and wellbeing of our workforce, we have agreed a temporary adjustment to our working hours with Birmingham City Council.
What to expect
During periods when the Met Office issues a Red Weather Warning for extreme heat, we will begin working on site at 7am and finish at approximately 2pm. This change is intended to help minimise prolonged exposure to heat and support the wellbeing of our teams.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
