What we are doing
We previously informed you that the flood compensation area works would take place from July 2025 to March 2026. However, most activities were paused during the winter period. We are now able to continue and expect the works to run until December 2026.
We will be carrying out the following activities:
- Removal of the top layer of the soil
- Construction of permanent drainage
- Placement of subsoil and topsoil
- Seeding and landscaping
- Installation of permanent fencing around the area and U46 footpath
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
