Work item details

Old Oak Common Station demolition works
From 21 June, works will commence to demolish the western section of the Heathrow Express Depot as well as a nearby substation. Please refer to the previous notification: https://assets.hs2.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/03172241/Notice-of-demolition-works_June2021-ANL-final.pdf.

These buildings are both located on the western end of the HS2 Old Oak Common Station site, close to Old Oak Common Lane. The demolition will pave the way to create access onto and over the Wycombe Line bridge for the construction activities due to commence in the satellite sites, south of Wells House Road.

This work will take approximately seven weeks to complete. Excavators and grab waggons will be used to remove the concrete spoil from site. Acoustic barriers will be put up around the work site to minimise any noise and water sprays will be used to dampen dust to prevent an increase in dust levels.

Demolition work will be undertaken from 8am to 6pm on Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. We will be undertaking air quality and noise monitoring throughout these works to ensure the dust and noise levels do not exceed the current permitted levels.

Overnight Drainage Survey off Victoria Road
We will be carrying out drainage surveys in the Vehicle Compliance Area off Victoria Road (Area between Braitrim House and Boden). These works will take place overnight from 22 to 24 June, between 7pm and 5am the following morning. The surveys must take place overnight as the site is operational during daytime hours.

The location of the surveys is shown in the map on the following page. The surveys will help us to investigate the condition of the drainage system and consider the best way to protect them while we build HS2. We may need to flush the drainage using a high-pressure water jet if any blockages are found. Some noise may be heard during this process
